What does it mean Inshallah

Concerning the arabic word "Inshallah", Insha Allah means if God wills it, it comes from the fact that we can not guarantee anything in the next minute, we can promise what we want, but we can not guarantee anything, that is why we add Inshallah.

We do not know if we will be able to honor our commitments even with all the good will we have, because we do not know if we will get there or not!

As an example to explain this: Once, I had a discussion on the plane with a guy who laughed when hearing the captain (a Muslim) say that with the will of God "inshallah" we will arrive to destination at such time!

He did not understand, for him there is no doubt! It has to be done at all costs. He wants to arrive on time and safe.

That is our will for all, while; who knows it would just take an unexpected mechanical trouble for example to arrive late or even live some thing not nice at all. And the examples are endless in this respect...

Allah tells us through the Holly Quran:

Chapter 18 Al Khaf-The Cave

23. And never say about anything, “I will do that tomorrow.”

24. Without saying, “If God wills.” And remember your Lord if you forget, and say, “Perhaps my Lord will guide me to nearer than this in integrity.”
